Approved Technologies

The SAFETY Act provides two levels of liability protections for approval: Designation and Certification. By obtaining either Designation or Certification, companies obtain a level of legal protection in case their technology is ever put to use during a terrorist attack. See below for a list of approved technology certifications.

Approved: March 13, 2017 | Expires: May 31, 2021

Lion First Responder PPE, Inc., Lion Group, Inc. and Lion Apparel, Inc. provide Chemical and Biological Protective Ensembles and Liquid Splash Protective Clothing (the “Technology”). The Technology is a family of protective suits designed to provide protection for first responders from the results of incidents involving vapor or liquid chemical and biological hazards. The Technology also includes manuals and training materials for each ensemble.


Countermeasures Assessment and Security Experts, L

Approved: March 13, 2017 | Expires: March 31, 2020

Countermeasures Assessment and Security Experts, LLC provides the Hazardous Materials Transportation Analytical Risk Model (“H-TRAM©” or the “Technology”). The Technology is a web-based software as a subscription (“SaaS”) risk reduction decision support tool that is used by Class II and Class III railroads to perform rail transportation route analysis for the transportation of hazardous materials on designated rail routes. The Technology includes documentation and user manuals to support the performance of risk analysis for the rail transportation of hazardous materials.


PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP

Approved: March 10, 2017 | Expires: April 30, 2022

PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP and PricewaterhouseCoopers Public Sector LLP provide Risk Management and Mitigation Planning Services (the “Technology”). The Technology is a set of services used to identify risk to Critical Infrastructure and Key Resources; measure the impact of those risks; and develop plans to mitigate the risks.


Qylur Intelligent Systems, Inc.

Approved: March 10, 2017 | Expires: March 31, 2022

Qylur Intelligent Systems, Inc. provides the Qylur Entry Experience Solution (“QEES” or the “Technology”). The Technology is a security screening system that integrates access control and five-chambered screening into a single unit that enables simultaneous scanning of multiple bags for weapons and explosive materials. The Technology includes the methods for remote viewing of images, installation, training, and maintenance of the Technology.


American K-9 Detection Services, LLC

Approved: March 10, 2017 | Expires: March 31, 2020

American K-9 Detection Services, LLC; iK9 Holding Company, LLC d/b/a AMK9 Academy; ITC Security Partners, Inc.; and, ITC Capital Partners, LLC collectively provide Explosive Detection Canine Team Services (the “Technology”). The Technology consists of a canine and a single human handler, for detecting explosives. The Technology includes policies, procedures, and documentation for hiring and vetting of personnel, training of teams, and deployment of the Technology.


Bank of America Corporation

Approved: March 02, 2017 | Expires: March 31, 2022

Bank of America Corporation provides its Critical Infrastructure Protection and Security Services (the “Technology”) to protect and secure critical infrastructure and to keep safe customers, employees, contractors and visitors at Bank of America facilities. The Technology is an integrated security system consisting of policies, procedures, services and component systems designed to provide a centralized capability to assess changing threat conditions and activities which could pose a threat to the bank’s enterprise and to take actions to mitigate and respond to such risks. The Technology includes services performed by Bank of America Corporation’s Protective Services Group and Security Operations Analysis and Command Center (“SOACC”).


The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey

Approved: March 02, 2017 | Expires: March 31, 2022

The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey provides Articulated Precast Concrete Protective Mat System for Underwater Rail Tunnel Breach Mitigation (“Protective Mat System” or the “Technology”). The Technology is a system of protective mats placed on the riverbed above the Port Authority Trans-Hudson (“PATH”) sub-aqueous rail tunnels. The Technology includes the selection of subcontractors responsible for the manufacturing and implementation of the Technology.


Safe Environment Engineering, L.P.

Approved: March 02, 2017 | Expires: February 28, 2022

Safe Environment Engineering, L.P. provides the Lifeline Wireless Monitoring System (the “Technology”). The Technology is a system that provides real-time chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear sensor reading to Federal, State, and local area decision makers worldwide with an Internet connection.


Raytheon Company

Approved: March 02, 2017 | Expires: February 28, 2022

Raytheon Company and Raytheon Technical Services Company LLC provide Security Equipment Integration (“SEI”) services. The Technology is a set of services used for the installation and integration of security equipment applications at airport and transportation facilities for the detection of explosives and other prohibited items. The services are performed in accordance with airport, local, State, and national building codes, and in compliance with the Department of Homeland Security’s (“DHS”) Transportation Security Administration’s (“TSA”) regulations and security equipment specifications and to other Federal and State specifications/regulatory requirements.


Universal Thrive Technologies, LLC d/b/a/ THRIVE Intelligence

Approved: February 16, 2017 | Expires: March 31, 2020

Universal Thrive Technologies, LLC d/b/a/ THRIVE Intelligence, Universal Protection Service, LP, d/b/a/ Allied Universal Security Services, and Universal Protection Service, LLC, d/b/a/ Allied Universal Security Services provides Operational Intelligence Monitoring and Response Services (the “Technology”). The Technology is commercial-off-the-shelf equipment and software to provide traditional alarm monitoring (fire, burglary, and intrusion alarms) and video monitoring services. The Technology also uses commercial-off-the-shelf equipment and software to provide event-based and non-event-based video monitoring using video analytic software. The Technology includes numerous components of both Traditional Central Station Alarm Monitoring Services and Video Monitoring Services, as well as intelligence gathering, initial service-needs assessments at customer location, and the selection of commercial-off-the-shelf hardware and software and subcontractors.
