Approved Technologies

The SAFETY Act provides two levels of liability protections for approval: Designation and Certification. By obtaining either Designation or Certification, companies obtain a level of legal protection in case their technology is ever put to use during a terrorist attack. The Technology includes, and provides, screeners and programmatic personnel for the screening of cargo in accordance with the Transportation Security Administration’s (TSA) Certified Cargo Screening Program (CCSP) at TSA-approved Certified Cargo Screening Facilities (CCSFs). Employees are trained and vetted in accordance with TSA directives and guidance. Also, screeners conduct screening according to TSA regulations and guidelines using TSA-approved methods and/or equipment.

Approved: May 08, 2017 \| Expires: May 31, 2022 Securitas Holdings, Inc., Pinkerton Consulting & Investigations Inc., Securitas Services, Inc., and Securitas AB provide Securitas Security Assessments and Consulting Services (the “Technology”). The Technology is risk and vulnerability assessments and consulting services to enhance protection of clients’ infrastructure, supply chains, and human resources operations. It is intended for deployment to private and Government facilities including critical infrastructure. The Technology includes crisis management and business continuity services.
American Science & Engineering, Inc. Approved: April 20, 2017 \| Expires: May 31, 2022 American Science & Engineering, Inc. provides X-ray Inspection Systems (the “Technology”). The Technology is a line of devices based on the same core technology designed to facilitate inspection of parcels, cargo, and vehicles for terrorist threats. The Technology also includes system installation and integration; operation and maintenance training; warranty and maintenance services; spare and replacement parts; technical manuals and documentation; software and hardware upgrades; and the qualifications of the personnel who perform these services.
Contemporary Services Corporation Approved: April 20, 2017 \| Expires: August 31, 2018 Contemporary Services Corporation provides Event Security Services (the “Technology”). The Technology is a set of core activities and a set of enhanced, customer-driven, activities including physical security, access control, and crowd management. The Technology also includes CSC’s Quality Assurance procedures that include selection, vetting, and training of employees; periodic internal, external (third-party), and Red Team assessments of CSC’s effectiveness; and an annual review process.
National Basketball Association Approved: April 06, 2017 \| Expires: August 31, 2020 The National Basketball Association ("NBA") provides the NBA Arena Security Standards, NBA Security Audits, and NBA Security Training Programs (the "Technology"). The Technology is a comprehensive set of mandatory security standards for team and arena management designed to deter and defend against terrorist attacks at venues where NBA games are played, in addition to other general security risks. The Technology is implemented through the NBA Security Audits and NBA Security Training Programs, and includes the hiring, vetting, qualifications, and training of NBA security personnel in connection with the three components of the Technology.
The Boeing Company Approved: March 29, 2017 \| Expires: April 30, 2022 The Boeing Company provides its Risk Management Analysis Process (the “Technology”). The Technology is a service to the TSA in accordance with an Other Transaction Agreement. As part of this contract, Boeing supports TSA’s assessment of commercial aviation vulnerabilities and security risks. The Technology includes all associated data and information products (e.g., briefings, recordings, manuals, and databases) that are generated as a result of the implementation of the Technology either by Boeing alone or in collaboration with TSA and the Aviation – Risk Management Working Group.
ANP Technologies Inc. Approved: March 29, 2017 \| Expires: April 30, 2022 ANP Technologies, Inc., provides the NIDS® (Nano Intelligent Detection System) Rapid Hand-Held Biothreat Detection System (the “Technology”). The Technology is multiplexed lateral flow immunoassays, together with an automated hand-held reader. Assays for multiple biological threat targets (e.g., toxins, bacteria and bacterial spores, viruses) can be incorporated onto a single test strip to enable 2-plexed, 5-plexed, or 10-plexed detection with a single test run. The Technology can be used to detect and identify select biological threat agents present in liquid samples prepared from powder, air samplers, surfaces, or water matrices. The reader provides visual alerts, electronic records of all samples, and operates on battery, PC via USB, or wall power.
