Approved Technologies

The SAFETY Act provides two levels of liability protections for approval: Designation and Certification. By obtaining either Designation or Certification, companies obtain a level of legal protection in case their technology is ever put to use during a terrorist attack. See below for a list of approved technology certifications.

The software works with most digital cameras to identify gamma rays emitted from a radioactive source. The Technology also includes attendant manuals and support services.
Advanced Ground Information Systems, Inc. ("AGIS, Inc.") Approved: December 31, 2013 \| Expires: January 31, 2019 Advanced Ground Information Systems, Inc. (“AGIS, Inc.”) provides LifeRing (the “Technology”). LifeRing is a software application that enables Smartphone, PC and Tablet users to establish secure ad hoc Common Operational Picture networks in response to situations where many people need to coordinate and collaborate with many others. The Technology has the capability to facilitate voice, photo, streaming video and text communications. The Technology includes operator manuals and training videos.
SimplexGrinnell LP Approved: December 31, 2013 \| Expires: February 28, 2019 SimplexGrinnell LP provides Security, Fire, and Life Safety Systems Integration Services (the “Technology”). The Technology is a set of integration services pertaining to security, fire, and life safety systems that deter, prevent, detect, alert, and respond to a variety of security and life safety threats. The Technology includes coverage for the hiring and training of the qualified personnel who perform these services, training of the customer on the systems installed, as well as all documentation related to such services.
American Science & Engineering, Inc. Approved: December 31, 2013 \| Expires: January 31, 2019 American Science and Engineering, Inc. provides the Z Portal (the “Technology”). The Technology is an X-ray based cargo and vehicle screening and inspection system. The Technology is a software tool to assist facility operators in completing an all-hazards risk and resilience analysis of water sector critical infrastructure. The Technology is a Certified Cargo Screening Facility, designed to aid in meeting the congressional mandate that 100 percent of cargo placed on passenger airplanes be screened. The Technology includes, and provides, screeners and programmatic personnel for the screening of cargo in accordance with the Transportation Security Administration (“TSA”)’s Certified Cargo Screening Program at TSA-approved Certified Cargo Screening Facilities.
