Approved Technologies

The SAFETY Act provides two levels of liability protections for approval: Designation and Certification. By obtaining either Designation or Certification, companies obtain a level of legal protection in case their technology is ever put to use during a terrorist attack. See below for a list of approved technology certifications.

Honeywell International, Inc.

Approved: May 05, 2014 | Expires: May 31, 2019

Honeywell International, Inc. provides the Digital Video Manager™ (“DVM”) System, a scalable, digital closed-circuit television (“CCTV”) surveillance solution that delivers advanced user security features, allowing for effective monitoring for security threats and comprehensive investigations (the “Technology”). The Technology provides control over the recording and retrieval process while enabling monitoring and control of the surveillance process itself. It is designed with an open architecture to integrate with customers’ existing enterprise systems.


Decision Sciences International Corporation

Approved: April 18, 2014 | Expires: May 31, 2017

Decision Sciences International Corporation provides the Multi-Mode Passive Detection System (“MMPDS” or the “Technology”). The Technology is a passive detection system for cargo and vehicle inspection that combines latent gamma ray detection technology and muon tomography. The Technology also includes the main apparatus, the software used to control the detectors and produce the three-dimensional image, the technical manuals, and training.


Southern Methodist University

Approved: April 10, 2014 | Expires: May 31, 2019

Southern Methodist University (“SMU”), a non-profit independent university chartered in the State of Texas and its affiliate, SMU Corp., incorporated in the State of Texas, provide SMU’s Security and Emergency Management Program (the “Technology”). The Technology includes policies, procedures, programs, equipment and personnel. SMU also provides security services as a subcontractor to the Office of Presidential Libraries, National Archives and Records Administration (“NARA”), for the George W. Bush Presidential Center (“GWBPC”) (“Bush Center”).


J&J International, LLC

Approved: April 08, 2014 | Expires: May 31, 2019

J & J International, LLC provides Certified Cargo Screening Facilities (the "Technology"). The Technology is Certified Cargo Screening Facilities, designed to aid in meeting the congressional mandate that 100 percent of cargo placed on passenger airplanes be screened. The Technology includes, and provides, screeners and programmatic personnel for the screening of cargo in accordance with the Transportation Security Administration (“TSA”)’s Certified Cargo Screening Program at TSA-approved Certified Cargo Screening Facilities.


Eid Passport, Inc.

Approved: April 07, 2014 | Expires: May 31, 2019

Eid Passport, Inc. provides RAPIDGate® System (the “Technology”). The Technology is an identification, credentialing and access management program consisting of equipment, software, and support services for personnel entering secure facilities. The Technology combines identity assurance, background screening, smart credentials, biometrics, and electronic access control into a program that is purchased on a subscription basis. The Technology also includes training, maintenance, and replacement of the furnished equipment and software (including periodic software updates and upgrades), and customer service and technical support.


UTi, United States, Inc.

Approved: March 31, 2014 | Expires: April 30, 2019

UTi, United States, Inc. provides Certified Cargo Screening Facilities (the "Technology"). The Boeing Company provides the e-Enabled Architecture (the "Technology"). The Technology includes cybersecure networking capabilities that can be deployed in support of commercial aviation applications and operations.


AdVnT Biotechnologies, LLC

Approved: March 21, 2014 | Expires: April 30, 2019

AdVnT Biotechnologies, LLC provides Biowarfare Screening Assays (the “Technology”). The Technology is a group of assay based devices used to screen for a select group of biothreat agents.


VMD-MT Security, LLC

Approved: February 27, 2014 | Expires: March 31, 2019

VMD-MT Security, LLC provides Screening Partnership Program Services a/k/a Passenger and Baggage Security Screening Services (the “Technology”). The Technology consists of the provision of trained and skilled personnel to operate screening equipment, conduct pre-board passenger screening, and carry-on and checked luggage and accessible property screening to prevent prohibited items from entering the sterile area of an airport.


ABM Security Services, Inc., ABM Industries Incorporated, and ABM Facility Services Company

Approved: February 24, 2014 | Expires: March 31, 2019

ABM Security Services, Inc., ABM Industries Incorporated, and ABM Facility Services Company provide Security Guard Services (the “Technology”). The Technology includes armed and unarmed guards for physical protection of customers’ facilities, personnel and visitors, property, and information at commercial and Government sites throughout the United States.
