Approved Technologies

The SAFETY Act provides two levels of liability protections for approval: Designation and Certification. By obtaining either Designation or Certification, companies obtain a level of legal protection in case their technology is ever put to use during a terrorist attack. See below for a list of approved technology certifications.

Lockheed Martin Corporation provides Operations and Maintenance (O&M) Services for Third-Party Sensors. The Technology is operations and maintenance support for vehicle and pedestrian portals for radiation detection, assistance for radiological portal calibration, and repairs on customer-owned or managed detection equipment.


ANP Technologies Inc.

ANP Technologies, Inc., provides the NIDS® (Nano Intelligent Detection System) Rapid Hand-Held Biothreat Detection System. The Technology is multiplexed lateral flow immunoassays, together with an automated hand-held reader. Assays for multiple biological threat targets (e.g., toxins, bacteria and bacterial spores, viruses) can be incorporated onto a single test strip to enable 2-plexed, 5-plexed, or 10-plexed detection with a single test run. The Technology can be used to detect and identify select biological threat agents present in liquid samples prepared from powder, air samplers, surfaces, or water matrices. The reader provides visual alerts, electronic records of all samples, and operates on battery, PC via USB, or wall power.


Rapiscan Systems, Inc.

Rapiscan Systems, Inc. provides the Secure 1000®. The Technology is a non-intrusive, backscatter X-ray screening system designed to detect threat objects concealed under a person's clothing, including metallic, non-metallic objects and explosives. The Technology also includes installation, integration, operation and safety training, system removal and maintenance.


Apollo Freight Inc.

Apollo Freight Inc. provides Certified Cargo Screening Facilities. The Technology, Certified Cargo Screening Facilities, are secure facilities established in accordance with directives issued by the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) for the screening and securing of cargo which will be transported on passenger aircraft. The Technology will include, in accordance with TSA directives, maintaining a security plan that limits access to secure cargo screening areas, training and vetting employees in accordance with TSA guidance, adherence to all TSA-specified chain of custody rules for this cargo, and use of TSA-approved methods and/or equipment for the screening of cargo. The Technology includes only those locations in possession of current TSA certifications for cargo screening facilities.


Raytheon Company

Raytheon Company provides Clear View™ Security Solution. The Technology is a software security management system for use in the management of security systems that can be used to protect critical infrastructure, border security, and other homeland security needs.


Raptor Detection Technologies, LLC a/k/a RDI Holdings, LLC

Approved: December 02, 2011 | Expires: December 31, 2016

Raptor Detection Technologies, LLC a/k/a RDI Holdings, LLC, provides Substance Activated Fast Evaluation-Technology (SAFE-T®) Fluid. The Technology is a liquid formulation allowing for the rapid detection of various explosives. The Technology is available in the form of wipes or a spray and includes the related products–SAFE-T® Wipes and SAFE-T® Spray, respectively. The Technology is to be deployed in accordance with guidelines provided on the product label and within product inserts, including guidelines regarding appropriate surfaces to which the Technology can be applied and methods for collection and analysis of samples.


Safe Environment Engineering Incorporated

Safe Environment Engineering Incorporated provides the Lifeline Wireless Monitoring System. The Technology provides real-time chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear (“CBRN”) sensor readings to Federal, State, and local area decision makers and/or subject matter experts worldwide with an Internet connection. The Technology also includes integration, training, and help-desk services.


Immediate Response Technologies, Inc.

Approved: November 23, 2011 | Expires: November 30, 2016

Immediate Response Technologies, Inc. provides Powered and Non-Powered Air Purifying Respirators. The Technology is a form of personal protective equipment that provides respiratory protection against known hazardous particulate matter and vapors, including dust, fumes, mists, biological agents, toxic industrial chemicals, toxic industrial materials, and chemical warfare agents. The Technology also includes an operator’s manual, operator training, and maintenance services.


Accenture, LLP

Accenture, LLP provides Virtual Border Management (VBM) Support Services. The Technology is a set of program management and information technology (IT) solutions methodologies designed to support the U.S. Visitor and Immigration Status Indicator Technology (US-VISIT) Program.


Raytheon Company, and Raytheon Technical Services Company LLC

Raytheon Company, and Raytheon Technical Services Company LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of Raytheon Company, provide Security Equipment Integration (SEI) services. The Technology is a set of services used for the installation and integration of security equipment applications at airport and transportation facilities for the detection of explosives and other prohibited items. The services are performed in accordance with airport, local, State, and national building codes, and in compliance with the Department of Homeland Security’s Transportation Security Administration’s (TSA) regulations and security equipment specifications and to other Federal and State specifications/regulatory requirements.
