Approved Technologies

The SAFETY Act provides two levels of liability protections for approval: Designation and Certification. By obtaining either Designation or Certification, companies obtain a level of legal protection in case their technology is ever put to use during a terrorist attack. See below for a list of approved technology certifications.

Alclear, LLC

Approved: June 01, 2012 | Expires: January 31, 2016

Alclear, LLC provides CLEAR. The Technology is a voluntary, biometrically secured, identification and access system for quicker airport passenger screening. The Technology can be modified to meet the customer’s needs and specifications, including those, for example, of customers who use CLEAR as part of TSA’s Registered Traveler program or other similar programs


Citibank, NA

Approved: May 17, 2012 | Expires: May 31, 2017

Citibank, N.A., provides Citi IdentityPlus. The Technology is a service that issues Personal Identity Verification-Interoperability (“PIV-I”) policy-compliant credentials to suppliers (or contractors) of the DOD.


Exelis, Inc.

Approved: May 14, 2012 | Expires: May 31, 2017

Exelis Inc., an Indiana corporation, d/b/a ITT Exelis, provides the Citadel II which consists of an electronic countermeasures (“ECM”) unit for law enforcement responses to a known radio-controlled improvised explosive device (“RCIED”). Law enforcement agencies should contact the company directly for more information.


Unisys Corporation

Unisys Corporation, a Delaware corporation, provides to the U.S. Customs and Border Protection’s (“CBP”) Targeting & Analysis Systems Program Office (“TASPO”) and to TASPO’s customers Support Services for Selectivity and Targeting Systems Software Applications, which are a set of services used to upgrade, modify, enhance, operate, and maintain Selectivity and Targeting Systems software applications in response to evolving technologies, threats, and mission requirements.


Securitas Holdings, Inc.

Approved: April 12, 2012 | Expires: April 30, 2017

Securitas Holdings, Inc. and Pinkerton Consulting & Investigations, Inc. provides Securitas Security Assessments and Consulting Services. The Technology is risk and vulnerability assessments and consulting services for clients’ infrastructure, supply chains, and human resources operations for deployment to private and Government facilities. As part of these services, or as a stand-alone service, crisis management and business continuity services are provided as well.


Human Genome Sciences, Inc.

Approved: April 10, 2012 | Expires: April 30, 2017

Human Genome Sciences, Inc., provides ABthrax™. The Technology is a fully human monoclonal antibody drug against the protective antigen component of anthrax toxin. It is intended for use as part of the Strategic National Stockpile or for use in emergency situations when deemed prudent by the appropriate regulatory body. The Technology acts as a prophylactic and therapeutic product by preventing anthrax-related toxins from infiltrating and destroying human cells. As a prophylactic and a therapeutic, the Technology is administered intravenously. The Technology also includes: manufacturing, testing, labeling, packaging, and storage of the antibody product; clinical use instructions; services related to developing and testing the antibody product; and associated technical documents and manuals.


Lockheed Martin Corporation

Lockheed Martin Corporation provides Security System Engineering Process. The Technology is a suite of services to design, develop, install, and support a “turnkey” integrated security system that can assist the customer in addressing identified vulnerabilities and to protect critical infrastructure. The Technology also includes maintenance and training.


Isotec Security, Inc.

Approved: March 23, 2012 | Expires: April 30, 2017

Isotec Security, Inc. provides Anti-Terrorism Access Control Portals (“ATT ACP”). The Technology is secure vestibule systems designed to detect weapons and prevent unauthorized access into, and/or out of, protected facilities. It uses a ballistic resistant enclosure outfitted with metal detectors, occupancy sensors, magnetic locks, video cameras, intercoms, and other customer requested devices to detect weapons and control personnel access.


AIT Worldwide Logistics, Inc.

Approved: March 23, 2012 | Expires: April 30, 2017

ATI Worldwide Logistics provides Certified Cargo Screening Facilities (the "Technology"). The Technology, Certified Cargo Screening Facilities, is designed to aid in meeting the congressional mandate that 100 percent of cargo placed on passenger airplanes be screened. The Technology includes, and provides, screeners and programmatic personnel for the screening of cargo in accordance with the Transportation Security Administration’s (“TSA’s”) Certified Cargo Screening Program at TSA-approved Certified Cargo Screening Facilities.


L-3 Communications Security and Detection Systems, Inc.

Approved: March 23, 2012 | Expires: March 31, 2016

L-3 Communications Security and Detection Systems, Inc. and L-3 Communications Corporation provide the ProVision™ SC-100 (also known as the Scout 100) and ProVision™ 360 (also known as the SafeScout™ 360). The Technology is line of security portals that use millimeter-wave scanning technology to produce three-dimensional images of subjects to detect threat objects. The Technology also includes training, installation, maintenance services, manuals, and technical documents. Certification applies only to the ProVision™ SC-100.
