Approved Technologies

The SAFETY Act provides two levels of liability protections for approval: Designation and Certification. By obtaining either Designation or Certification, companies obtain a level of legal protection in case their technology is ever put to use during a terrorist attack. See below for a list of approved technology certifications.

Raytheon Co. and Raytheon UTD

Approved: April 19, 2013 | Expires: April 30, 2018

Raytheon Company provides Vulnerability Assessments and Mitigation Services. The Technology provides vulnerability and threat assessments, security planning services, and technical assistance primarily to the Department of Defense (“DOD”), Defense Threat Reduction Agency (“DTRA”), and emergency management training for the U.S. Federal Emergency Management Agency (“FEMA”). The Technology also includes all technical manuals and the selection, hiring, training, and qualifications of the personnel used to perform these services.


Commercial Freight Services, Inc.

Approved: April 18, 2013 | Expires: May 31, 2018

Commercial Freight Services, Inc. provides Certified Cargo Screening Facilities (the "Technology"). The Technology, Certified Cargo Screening Facilities, is designed to aid in meeting the congressional mandate that 100 percent of cargo placed on passenger airplanes be screened. The Technology includes, and provides, screeners and programmatic personnel for the screening of cargo in accordance with the Transportation Security Administration’s (“TSA’s”) Certified Cargo Screening Program at TSA-approved Certified Cargo Screening Facilities.


Final Mile Logistics Inc.

Final Mile Logistics, Inc. provides Certified Cargo Screening Facilities (the "Technology"). The Technology, Certified Cargo Screening Facilities, is designed to aid in meeting the congressional mandate that 100 percent of cargo placed on passenger airplanes be screened. FLIR Systems, Inc.

Approved: April 02, 2013 | Expires: April 30, 2018

FLIR Systems, Inc., Agentase, LLC, and FLIR Detection, Inc. provide the Agentase Enzyme-Based CAD Kit and Detection Spray. The Technology is a tool designed to detect and differentiate the following chemical warfare agents (“CWAs”): nerve agents (G and V Series), blood agents (cyanide), and blister agents (sulfur mustard). The Technology also includes an instruction card/user manual and three optional elements: technical support, an instructional video, and training sensors and kits.


FJC SECURITY SERVICES, INC.

FJC Security Services, Inc. provides FJC Physical Security Services. The Technology is physical security services comprised of multi-disciplined security guard forces consisting of both armed and unarmed security personnel who deliver security services to private and government facilities. The Technology also includes support services and supporting documentation.


Bank of America Corporation

Approved: March 08, 2013 | Expires: March 31, 2018

Bank of America Corporation provides its Critical Infrastructure Protection and Security Services to protect and secure critical infrastructure and to keep safe customers, employees, contractors and visitors at Bank of America facilities. The Technology is an integrated security system consisting of policies, procedures, services and component systems designed to provide a centralized capability to assess changing threat conditions and activities which could pose a threat to the bank’s enterprise and to take actions to mitigate and respond to such risks. The Technology includes services performed by Bank of America Corporation’s Protective Services Group and Security Operations Analysis and Command Center (“SOACC”).


AtHoc, Inc.

Approved: March 08, 2013 | Expires: March 30, 2018

AtHoc, Inc. provides Interactive Warning System ("IWS" or the "Technology"). The Technology is a modular network-centric system that automates the end-to-end bi-directional crisis communication process, delivering mass-notification (IWSAlerts), situational field reporting (IWSFieldReport), duress activation (IWSDuress), situational awareness (IWSAware), and personnel accountability (IWSAccountability) and a mobile app (AtHoc Notifier). The Technology also includes optional installation services, optional software hosting services through a third-party data center, and user manuals.


Cross Match Technologies, Inc.

Approved: January 25, 2013 | Expires: January 31, 2018

Cross Match Technologies, Inc., and Cross Match Technologies GmbH provide the Cross Match Live Scan Suite. The Technology is a range of optical technologies for the capturing of finger, palm, and full-hand prints, iris scans, and facial images for identification purposes. The Technology also consists of a customer-selected combination of the software and service components.


Cascade Coil Defense Systems

Approved: January 21, 2013 | Expires: January 31, 2018

Cascade Coil Drapery, Inc. (d/b/a Cascade Coil Defense Systems) provides GuardianCoil®. The Technology is a curtain system consisting primarily of a wire mesh and designed to absorb debris in the event of an explosion. The Technology also includes installation services, including the certification of installers and selection of vendors to aid in installation.


Universal Protection Security Systems, LP

Approved: January 14, 2013 | Expires: January 31, 2018

SFI Electronics, LLC, Universal Protection Security Systems, LP, and Universal Services of America, Inc. provide Security Systems Integration Services (the "Technology"). The Technology includes systems capable of aiding in deterrence, prevention, detection, and can provide alerts to a variety of security threats including, but not limited to, disaster control, workplace violence, and terrorism.
