Certifications

For Certification, a technology must have demonstrated confidence of continued effectiveness: i.e., it will perform as intended, conform to the seller’s specifications, and is safe for use as intended. In addition to the benefits provided under Designation, Certification allows Sellers of antiterrorism technologies to assert the Government Contractor Defense that immunizes Sellers from liability for claims arising from acts of terrorism. Technologies that receive Certification will be also placed on an Approved Products List for Homeland Security. Designation is a prerequisite for Certification.

The Technology identifies risks to Critical Infrastructure and Key Resources, measures the impact of those risks, and develops plans to mitigate the identified risks. It is used to help Federal, State, and local government clients, as well as commercial clients and not-for-profit organizations to improve management of continuity of operations. The Technology also includes the selection, vetting, training, and management of the personnel who perform the above services, and all attendant manuals and deliverables. The Certification currently applies only to deployments of the Technology to maritime CIKR.

Mydatt Services Inc., d.b.a. Valor Security Services, provides Valor Security Services. The Technology is physical security project management and provides trained security officers at retail commercial facilities. The Technology also includes training manuals, guides, and other materials.

Microsemi Corporation - RF Integrated Solutions provides the BIS-WDS®. The Technology is a millimeter wave detector designed to image suspicious objects present on a subject person from a stand-off distance. It can be used alone or integrated with other security devices to create a more complete security solution. Maintenance, warranty services, selection and qualification of distributors, spare parts sales, and all relevant technical documentation are included in the Technology.
