Approved Technologies

The SAFETY Act provides two levels of liability protections for approval: Designation and Certification. By obtaining either Designation or Certification, companies obtain a level of legal protection in case their technology is ever put to use during a terrorist attack. See below for a list of approved technology certifications.

Michael Stapleton Associates’ SmartTech and Explosive Detection Services offers both the SmartTech Explosive Detection System (“SmartTech”), a remote system that allows for the transmission of X-ray images and video to remotely located bomb technicians for immediate analysis of conventional explosives and weapons, and Explosives Detection Canine/ Handler teams (“EDCs”), explosives detection services used to detect and counter conventional and peroxide-based explosives. The Technology also includes the recruitment, hiring, screening, and training of the employees providing these services.


IntelaSight, Inc., dba Iveda Solutions

IntelaSight, Inc., dba Iveda Solutions provides Real-Time IP Video Hosting and Real-Time Remote Surveillance. The Technology is a set of services designed to secure a site through the monitoring of a security system installed by a third-party partner of the Seller. The services include the Datacenter, Centralized Video Hosting, and Remote Monitoring.


Brock Solutions, Inc. and Brock Solutions U.S., Inc.

Brock Solutions, Inc. and Brock Solutions U.S., Inc. provide the Automated In-Line EDS Baggage Screening System. The Technology is a control and software package designed to be applied to airport baggage screening systems of varying complexity. The Technology also includes all related design, development, testing, and installation work, as well as, personnel and their qualifications, user training, and project methodology.


Thermo Eberline LLC: Advanced Spectroscopic Portal

Thermo Eberline LLC, Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc., and Thermo Securities Corporation, a Delaware corporation provides Advanced Spectroscopic Portal. The Advanced Spectroscopic Portal (ASP, the Technology) is a fixed, relocatable radiation detection device intended for use in scanning cargo for radiological and nuclear materials. The Technology is provided in conjunction with the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Domestic Nuclear Detection Office (DNDO), Customs and Border Protection (CBP), and the Department of Energy (DOE).

Sonic Works, Inc. provides Inspector Bee. The Technology is sonar based remotely operated vehicle designed to detect the presence of underwater explosives placed along the hull of a ship. It is also capable of making high resolution 3-D images of ships and covering a one hundred percent of a target area due to it fine controls.

Sonic Works, Inc.: HarborWatchTM Underwater Securiry System

Sonic Works, Inc. provides HarborWatchTM Underwater Security System. The Technology is a sonar based device that makes use of an array of acoustic transceivers. It is designed to act as a security system that provides near real-time-zoned detection, tracking, classification, and alerts of underwater and surface intrusion in a defined volume. The Technology also includes an operator visualization system, installation, periodic maintenance, and user training.


SRCTec Inc.: Lightweight Surveillance and Track Acquisition Radar (LSTAR)

SRCTec Inc. provides the Lightweight Surveillance and Track Acquisition Radar (LSTAR). The Technology is a portable and self-contained radar system designed to detect low altitude small low-speed aircraft. It can easily be transported, deployed, and set up making it ideal for when Federal Aviation Administration or military assets are not available. A technical manual is included.
