Approved Technologies

The SAFETY Act provides two levels of liability protections for approval: Designation and Certification. By obtaining either Designation or Certification, companies obtain a level of legal protection in case their technology is ever put to use during a terrorist attack. See below for a list of approved technology certifications.

Smiths Detection, Inc.

Approved: May 29, 2015 | Expires: June 30, 2020

Smiths Detection, Inc. provides the HI-SCAN 10080 Explosives Detection Systems (the “Technology”). The Technology is a product line of automated X-ray-based screening equipment that allows for the detection of potential threat objects or substances (e.g., explosives) in scanned items. Information is presented to the operator via a graphical user interface. The Technology also includes installation, maintenance, and training services as well as the technical documents and manuals related to these services and the operation of the Technology.


NextGen Security, LLC

Approved: May 21, 2015 | Expires: June 30, 2020

NextGen Security, LLC provides NextGen Perimeter Protection Services (the “Technology”). The Technology is an electronic security systems integrator of perimeter intrusion detection, control, and surveillance systems. It includes a range of services, including: security systems consultations, security compliance consultations, engineering, security systems design, project management and coordination, security systems installation and commissioning, general construction, security integration, security systems training, maintenance and service plans for the development of perimeter intrusion detection systems.


Implant Sciences Corporation

Approved: May 21, 2015 | Expires: June 30, 2020

Implant Sciences Corporation provides Quantum Sniffer™ (the “Technology”). The Technology is a product line of handheld, portable explosive trace detection devices. The Technology also includes operator’s manuals.


Geodis Wilson USA, Inc.

Approved: May 13, 2015 | Expires: May 31, 2020

Geodis Wilson USA, Inc. provides Certified Cargo Screening Facilities (the “Technology”). The Technology is designed to aid in meeting the congressional mandate that 100 percent of cargo placed on passenger airplanes be screened. The Technology includes, and provides, screeners and programmatic personnel for the screening of cargo in accordance with the Transportation Security Administration (“TSA”)’s Certified Cargo Screening Program at TSA-approved Certified Cargo Screening Facilities.


Geo-Trans International, Inc. (d/b/a Boston Freight Terminals)

Approved: May 13, 2015 | Expires: May 31, 2020

Geo-Trans International, Inc. (d/b/a Boston Freight Terminals) provides a Certified Cargo Screening Facility (the “Technology”). The Technology is designed to aid in meeting the congressional mandate that 100 percent of cargo placed on passenger airplanes be screened. The Technology includes, and provides, screeners and programmatic personnel for the screening of cargo in accordance with the Transportation Security Administration (“TSA”)’s Certified Cargo Screening Program at TSA-approved Certified Cargo Screening Facilities.

Centerra Group, LLC provides Security and Fire/Emergency Response Services (the “Technology”). The Technology is armed and unarmed guard services, specialized security forces, and fire protection and emergency response services for select government agencies.

Approved: May 13, 2015 | Expires: May 31, 2018

STT, LLC and STTARX, LLC provide STTarx™ (the “Technology”). The Technology is a software package designed to create secure, closed network environments using the public Internet in order to provide protection from cyber attacks against networks, data, and communications.


Mission Support Alliance, LLC ("MSA")

Approved: April 28, 2015 | Expires: May 31, 2020

Mission Support Alliance, LLC (“MSA”) provides Mission Security & Support Services. The Technology provides an integrated suite of safety and security products and services to the Department of Energy. The Technology also includes integration of products and services, written policies, procedures, training materials, manuals, and support materials.


World Courier, Inc.

World Courier, Inc. provides Certified Cargo Screening Facilities (the "Technology"). The Technology is designed to aid in meeting the congressional mandate that 100 percent of cargo placed on passenger airplanes be screened. SecureUSA, Inc. provides the FutureWEDGE Series (the “Technology”). The Technology is a product line of active perimeter vehicle barricades that aid in delaying the entrance of unauthorized intruders to installations. The Technology also includes installation, maintenance, and service, depending on customer requests/requirements.
