Designations

For Designation as a Qualified Anti-Terrorism Technology (QATT), a technology must demonstrate effectiveness during operational testing or through prior use. Designation provides limited liability for third-party claims arising out of the deployment of the QATT with respect to an "Act of Terrorism." The maximum liability is determined by DHS, and the Seller is required to maintain liability insurance at that level. Other protections include immunity from punitive damages. A full Designation normally lasts for 5 years and can be renewed. Any technology deployed during its period of Designation is protected for the lifetime of its deployment.

The Technology consists of an electronic database and display system that features high resolution images and facility specific information. Site survey/data collection, data processing and production, and training services are also components of the Technology. It is designed to improve response to emergencies such as terrorist attacks.


GSS Security Services, Inc.: GSS K-9 Explosive Detection Services

GSS Security Services, Inc. provides the GSS K-9 Explosive Detection Services. The Technology consists of Canine (K-9) Explosion Detection Teams (one trained handler and one trained canine) and K-9 Explosive Detection Training programs for the training of its customers’ K-9 teams. All K-9 teams must pass the training, and certified teams are capable of detecting a number of different explosive materials. The selection, qualification criteria, and training all adhere to the U.S. Police Canine Association (USPCA) guidelines.
