Approved Technologies

The SAFETY Act provides two levels of liability protections for approval: Designation and Certification. By obtaining either Designation or Certification, companies obtain a level of legal protection in case their technology is ever put to use during a terrorist attack. See below for a list of approved technology certifications.

The Technology is the use of proprietary explosive detection canine teams to detect explosives carried by individuals, e.g., in backpacks and/or clothing, by tracking the odor from explosive material to a moving source. The Technology is also used to locate explosives on stationary objects. The Technology also includes hiring and vetting of personnel, and policies and procedures used for its deployment.
K2 Solutions, Inc. Approved: March 31, 2023 | Expires: April 30, 2028 K2 Solutions, Inc., provides Single-Purpose Explosive Detection Canine Teams. The Technology is the use of proprietary explosive detection canine teams to locate explosive material or devices in stationary positions, such as unattended bags, trashcans, planters, cargo, vehicles, etc. Teams are deployed to Government and commercial facilities, including arenas, stadiums, amphitheaters, theme parks, airports, and high-profile events. The Technology also includes hiring and vetting of personnel, and policies and procedures used for its deployment.

K2 Solutions, Inc. Approved: December 15, 2017 | Expires: November 30, 2022 K2 Solutions, Inc., provides Single Purpose Explosive Detection Dog. The Technology is explosive detection canine teams comprised of one handler and one canine deployed to locate explosives in stationary objects such as vehicles, luggage, bags, and cargo at commercial and U.S. Government locations in the United States. The Technology includes hiring and vetting of personnel, policies and procedures, training, quality control, and operational deployment of the single purpose explosive detection dog teams.
K2 Solutions, Inc. Approved: April 27, 2016 | Expires: April 30, 2019 K2 Solutions, Inc. provides Person-Borne Explosive Detector Dog Teams (“PB-EDD” or the “Technology”). The Technology detects explosives carried by individuals, e.g., in backpacks and/or clothing, by following the path of air molecules flowing from explosive material on a moving individual, and for traditional explosive detection canine team deployments to locate explosives on stationary positions. The Technology includes hiring and vetting of personnel, and policies and procedure.
