Approved Technologies

The SAFETY Act provides two levels of liability protections for approval: Designation and Certification. By obtaining either Designation or Certification, companies obtain a level of legal protection in case their technology is ever put to use during a terrorist attack. See below for a list of approved technology certifications.

E.J. Brooks Company provides High Security Bolt and Cable Seals. The Technology is an ISO 17712 (Freight containers - Mechanical seals) certified, single-use device that provides the function of both a seal and lock for cargo containers and truck trailers.. The Technology models that are covered within this definition are the Trans Rod Security Seal, Cable to Cable Seal 2000, CSI Bolt Seal, Global Lok, Intermodal II Bolt Seals, Intermodal IV Bolt Seals, 1/8” Multi-Lok Cable Seals, and the Rod-Lok II.

ChoicePoint, Inc., provides CPScreen.com. The Technology is a web-based screening utility that provides background screening, personnel surety, credentialing, and public records services to Government, public and private businesses, including critical facility and key infrastructure owners and operators, and nonprofit organizations. The Technology also includes training materials, reference guides, and instructional programming pertaining to its use.


American Physical Security Group, LLC

Approved: May 15, 2009 | Expires: June 30, 2014

American Physical Security Group, LLC provides the APSG Hi-ThreatTM.. The Technology is a product line of specially crafted doors, windows, louvers, and security stations designed to resist physical forced entry and bullets. The Technology also includes APSG supervision of general contractor-provided installation services, and installation, operation, and maintenance manuals.


AdVnt Biotechnologies, LLC

Approved: May 05, 2009 | Expires: June 30, 2014

AdVnt Biotechnologies, LLC, provides Biowarfare Screening Assays. The Technology includes Biowarfare Agent Detection Devices (BADD™) and the Pro Strips Rapid Screening System™ kit, both of which are immunochromatography-based assays used to screen for the presence of biothreat agents. Each assay provides a one-time use capability and is designed to presumptively identify one or more biothreat agents, including Anthrax, Ricin toxin, Botulinum toxin, Plague (Yersinia pestis), and/or SEB (Staphylococcal Enterotoxin B).

Gregg Protection Services Inc.

Gregg Protection Services Inc., provides the Gregg Protection Program Evaluation Process. The Technology is a combination of services as provided by Gregg’s Safeguards and Security Subject Matter Experts (SME’s) and the Gregg Threat Assessment Program (G-TAP), its proprietary software. The G-TAP software technology is a computerized documentation aid for a SME vulnerability analyst to when evaluating the effectiveness of a protection system against a specified threat. The Technology also includes consultation and recommendations.

BAE Systems Electronics and Integrated Solutions provides the First InterCommTM System. The Technology is designed to augment the capabilities of the communications equipment of first responders. It enables communications between disparate radios and other communications devices employed by Federal, State, and local public safety agencies. The Technology also includes: installation, integration, training, warranty services, the qualified personnel, software upgrades, and technical manuals.


Brijot Imaging Systems, Inc.: BIS-WDS®

Brijot Imagin Systems, Inc. provides the BIS-WDS®. The Technology is a millimeter wave detector designed to image suspicious objects present on a subject person from a stand-off distance. It can be used alone or integrated with other security devices to create a more complete security solution. Maintenance, warranty services, selection and qualification of distributors, spare parts sales, and all relevant technical documentation are included in the Technology.
