Approved Technologies

The SAFETY Act provides two levels of liability protections for approval: Designation and Certification. By obtaining either Designation or Certification, companies obtain a level of legal protection in case their technology is ever put to use during a terrorist attack. See below for a list of approved technology certifications.

Shooter Detection Systems

Approved: January 11, 2023 | Expires: January 31, 2028

Shooter Detection Systems, LLC provides the Guardian Indoor Active Shooter Detection System (the Technology). The Technology is a gunshot sensor system designed to detect indoor firearm discharges within its coverage area and report the specific location of the source(s). The Technology intends to provide building security personnel and other occupants with real-time gunshot detection information to assist with decision making and to facilitate rapid and accurate reporting to first responders. The Technology also includes training of installers, installation guides, and user manuals.


Everbridge, Inc.

Approved: January 04, 2023 | Expires: January 31, 2028

Everbridge, Inc., provides Everbridge Critical Event Management (CEM) Platform. The Technology is a cloud-based Software-as-a-Service mass notification and incident management system. It is comprised of software modules for panic buttons, communications with large numbers of users, notification, Information Technology alerting to recover from cybersecurity attacks, and user interface with data visualization. It is designed to facilitate communication among first responders, emergency managers, and citizens during emergency situations – including terrorist attacks – and non-emergency situation. The Technology also includes support services, technical documentation, user training, and software update and maintenance services.


Vizsafe, Inc.

Approved: December 23, 2022 | Expires: December 31, 2027

The Technology is a scalable, cloud-based platform that aggregates, maps, stores, and shares real-time visual information from fixed security cameras and from smartphones. The Technology enables users to visually record, map, and share safety reports from their smartphones or tablets with authorized recipients to improve situational awareness and communications for first responders and security personnel.


GardaWorld Federal Services

Approved: December 09, 2022 | Expires: December 30, 2027

Aegis Defense Services, LLC d/b/a GardaWorld Federal Services operates as a Certified Cargo Security Facility – Canine (CCSF-K9) provider in accordance with directives issued by the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) for screening and securing cargo that will be transported on passenger and all-cargo aircraft (the "Technology").


AWWA

Approved: December 09, 2022 | Expires: November 30, 2027

The American Water Works Association (AWWA) provides American Water Works Association/American National Standards. The AWWA is a Standards Development Organization accredited by the American National Standards Institute. The Technology consists of the AWWA’s Standards Development Process for American National Standards and the following named American National Standards: ANSI/AWWA G430-09: Security Practices for Operation and Management, and ANSI/AWWA JI00-10: Standard for Risk and Resilience Management of Water and Wastewater Systems. The Standards, which are to be used in the protection of public water utilities, set forth minimum requirements for variable security operations, including those for training requirements for security professionals, physical asset security, and for organizational resiliency and continuity management.


Rave Wireless, Inc., d/b/a Rave Mobile Safety

Approved: November 21, 2022 | Expires: November 30, 2027

The Technology is a network-centric mass notification and emergency communications system. It is delivered via a combination of Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) components, mobile phone applications, and software installed on site. It includes the following components: Rave Alert, a mass notification system; Smart911, a combination database and web application of tools for emergency services; and Rave Panic Button, a safety application that alerts on-site personnel and 9-1-1 about emergencies.


Brosnan Risk Consultants

Approved: November 15, 2022 | Expires: November 30, 2025

Brosnan Risk Consultant, provides Brosnan Risk Consultant, LTD Physical Security Guard Services. The Technology is the provision of physical security guard services for the retail sector within the United States and its territories, using unarmed uniformed and plainclothes security personnel who are directed by a centralized command, control, communications, and coordination center. The Technology provides 1) observation and identification of criminal activity and suspicious persons and events, and 2) deterrence for and reporting of such incidents, some of which could potentially be pre-cursers to acts of terrorism. The Technology does not include engagement or incident response beyond verbal warnings, notification to the appropriate authorities of an incident, and the establishment of a perimeter to maintain the security of evidence or safety of persons.


HavenLock

Approved: November 03, 2022 | Expires: October 31, 2027

HavenLock, Inc. provides the Haven LockDown. The Technology is an apparatus top-mounted to a typical commercial door frame that prevents access to a specified area. All models of the Technology can be engaged manually and are also available in one of two wireless electronic communication variants.


SOC LLC

Northrop Grumman Corporation

Approved: October 26, 2022 | Expires: October 31, 2027

Northrop Grumman Corporation provides Tier 3 Customs-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (C-TPAT) Services. The Technology is the provision of services for the securing of cargo from importers who exceed the Tier 3 minimum security requirements promulgated by Customs and Border Protections’ Customs-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism Program. The Technology includes the implementation of policies, procedures, training, and a risk management framework to secure the goods of the supply chain being imported into the United States.
