Approved Technologies

The SAFETY Act provides two levels of liability protections for approval: Designation and Certification. By obtaining either Designation or Certification, companies obtain a level of legal protection in case their technology is ever put to use during a terrorist attack. See below for a list of approved technology certifications.





Company/Technology

Equity Office Management, L.L.C.

Approved: February 17, 2016 | Expires: August 31, 2018

Equity Office Management, L.L.C. provides Willis Tower Security and Life Safety Services (the “Technology”). The Technology is security and life safety services provided to the Willis Tower in Chicago, Illinois. The Technology comprises a security management program designed to plan for and respond to emergencies, control access to, screen packages and parcels entering, and provide for the evacuation of Willis Tower. Components of the Technology include physical security, security plans and procedures, emergency response, training and coordination with Federal, State, and local law enforcement. The Technology also includes security training for tenants and security personnel, coordination with Federal, State, and local law enforcement, and other documentation.


Shipco Transport Inc.

Approved: February 17, 2016 | Expires: March 31, 2021

Shipco Transport Inc. provides Certified Cargo Screening Facilities (the “Technology”). The Technology is designed to aid in meeting the congressional mandate that 100 percent of cargo placed on passenger airplanes be screened. The Technology includes, and provides, screeners and programmatic personnel for the screening of cargo in accordance with the Transportation Security Administration (“TSA”)’s Certified Cargo Screening Program at TSA-approved Certified Cargo Screening Facilities.


United Technologies Corporation (“UTC”)

Approved: February 10, 2016 | Expires: March 31, 2021

United Technologies Corporation (“UTC”), UTC Fire & Security Corporation, and UTC Fire & Security Americas Corporation, Inc., provide MobileView® (the “Technology”). The Technology is a mobile surveillance system consisting of digital video recorders, cameras, audio microphones, a variety of accessory and ancillary devices, and support services. The Technology is designed for deployment on public transit vehicles such as buses, paratransit vans, and light rail and commuter rail vehicles. Also, the Technology can transmit digital and audio information to a monitoring station. Thus, when connected to a MobileView® network, centralized audio and video monitoring is possible. The Technology includes the following models: MobileView® 3, MobileView® 4, MobileView® PENTA, and MobileView® 3000.


AECOM

Approved: February 10, 2016 | Expires: March 31, 2021

AECOM, AECOM Technical Services, Inc., AECOM USA, Inc., AECOM Services, Inc., URS Group, Inc., URS Corporation, URS Corporation - New York, URS Corporation - North Carolina, URS Corporation - Ohio, and URS Corporation Southern provide Threat and Vulnerability Assessment Services (the “Technology”). The Technology is threat and vulnerability assessment services including analyses of threats; modeling and analysis of threats to structures; prioritization of threats as a function of probability and magnitude of impact; defining mitigation strategies; developing security plans and guidelines, and security system designs; and other support services for security operations.


Lockheed Martin Corporation

Approved: February 02, 2016 | Expires: February 28, 2021

Lockheed Martin Corporation provides the Federal Bureau of Investigation with the Next Generation Identification System and Services (the “Technology”). The Technology is a multi-modal biometric identification capability that assists Federal, State, and local law enforcement authorities in investigating, detecting, preventing, or otherwise countering terrorism and other criminal activity. The Technology entails the processes and procedures used for the selection, testing, and integration of commercial off-the-shelf items used as part of the Technology. The Technology includes hiring, vetting, and training of qualified personnel.


The Boeing Company

Approved: February 02, 2016 | Expires: January 31, 2021

The Boeing Company provides the Security Monitoring Infrastructure System (the “Technology”). The Technology is software suite which provides cybersecurity situational awareness and network security monitoring. The Technology also includes training and all associated documentation (e.g. network diagrams, test plans, installation guides, etc.).


Genetec Inc.

Approved: February 02, 2016 | Expires: February 28, 2021

Genetec Inc. provides Omnicast (the “Technology”). The Technology is a Microsoft Windows-based secure IP Video Surveillance Software that provides management of video, audio, and data across IP networks. The Technology also includes training and internal certification of resellers, custom software services, user manuals, and help desk services.


Apollo Video Technology, LLC

Approved: January 15, 2016 | Expires: February 28, 2021

Apollo Video Technology, LLC provides RoadRunner and RoadRunner HD OnBoard Video Surveillance; ViM (Vehicle Information Management) Software (the “Technology”). The Technology is a mobile video and audio recording system. Components include a digital video recorder or high definition recorder, storage media, interior and exterior cameras, wireless components and accessories. The system is designed and manufactured specifically for mobile applications, where vibration, shock, and power fluctuations are common.


Mission Manager Inc.

Approved: January 11, 2016 | Expires: January 31, 2019

Mission Manager Inc. provides Mission Manager (the “Technology”). The Technology is a web-based incident management software application designed to improve first responders’ situational awareness. It can be used for daily management and during incident response to develop a Common Operating Picture. The Technology also includes technical support, training, software updates, documentation, and online user manuals.


Air Express International USA, Inc., d/b/a DHL Global Forwarding

Approved: January 11, 2016 | Expires: January 31, 2021

Air Express International USA, Inc., d/b/a DHL Global Forwarding; DHL Express (USA), Inc.; Danzas Corporation; Radix Group International, Inc.; Exel Global Logistics Inc.; together with their parent entity DPWN Holdings (USA), Inc. provide Certified Cargo Screening Facilities (the “Technology”).
