Approved Technologies

The SAFETY Act provides two levels of liability protections for approval: Designation and Certification. By obtaining either Designation or Certification, companies obtain a level of legal protection in case their technology is ever put to use during a terrorist attack. See below for a list of approved technology certifications.

The Boeing Company provides the e-Enabled Architecture (the "Technology"). The Technology includes cybersecure networking capabilities that can be deployed in support of commercial aviation applications and operations.

Approved: February 18, 2014 | Expires: September 30, 2017

The Boeing Company provides Explosives Detection Canine Services (the "Technology"). The Technology includes canine teams each composed of one canine and one handler trained to provide explosives detection services, as well as associated training and documentation.

Approved: September 26, 2013 | Expires: October 31, 2018

The Boeing Company provides Traffic Management Infrastructure Systems Security Services (the “Technology”). The Technology encompasses a range of services used to secure air traffic management infrastructure systems against unauthorized activities to support the safe and secure movement of goods and people. The Technology is limited to U.S. Government customers, namely, the U.S. Department of Transportation in support of the Federal Aviation Administration, and the John A. Volpe National Transportation Systems Center.

The Boeing Company provides Security System Equipment Installation and Integration Services (the “Technology”). The Technology is a set of services intended to design, assess, evaluate, engineer, research, recommend, install, integrate, and test security technologies in support of Transportation Security Administration security programs. The Technology also includes training and qualification of those providing the services.

The Boeing Company provides Enhanced Security Flight Deck Door Technologies (the “Technology”). The Technology is specialized flight deck doors and other features designed to protect the flight crew and certain flight critical equipment on commercial aircraft. The Technology also includes services such as design, manufacturing, installation, and retrofitting as well as training and maintenance.

Approved: May 09, 2013 | Expires: May 31, 2018

The Boeing Company ("Boeing") provides aviation security services for Boeing’s commercial aircraft deliveries destined to U.S. sterile terminals under a Transportation Security Administration (“TSA”)-approved Boeing Security Program (“BSP”) (the "Technology"). The Technology consists of: personnel screening and training; passenger and cargo screening processes, equipment, materials, software and data; and subscription services.

Approved: January 14, 2013 | Expires: January 31, 2016

The Boeing Company provides Passive Millimeter Wave Imaging System ("PMMWIS") Intellectual Property. The Technology is the intellectual property associated with the PMMWIS set to be delivered to and finalized by the United States Navy. The intellectual property includes: design specifications, prototype hardware, and a test plan. The Technology also includes the process by which the Boeing Company produced and vetted the specifications, prototype, and any modeling, simulation, and test activities used to verify the design of the PMMWIS.

The Boeing Company provides Border Security Systems and Services (the "Technology"). The Technology comprises hardware, software, and services intended to aid personnel charged with securing borders, critical infrastructure, facilities, and sites by providing real time situational awareness and decision support capabilities. The Technology also includes data, materials, and subscription services.

The Boeing Company provides the Risk Management Analysis Process ("RMAP") software tool to support assessment of aviation security risks. RMAP provides a structured, data-driven, risk-informed analysis of threats and countermeasures which is used to assess the effectiveness, relative change in risk, and corresponding operational and economic impact on the protected system that could result from proposed changes.
