Approved Technologies

The SAFETY Act provides two levels of liability protections for approval: Designation and Certification. By obtaining either Designation or Certification, companies obtain a level of legal protection in case their technology is ever put to use during a terrorist attack. See below for a list of approved technology certifications.

Johnson Controls International plc, Sensormatic Electronics, LLC, and Tyco International Management Company, provide VideoEdge, victor, and Illustra (the "Technology"). The Technology is a scalable video management system consisting of video recorder hardware and management software supporting the integration of cameras and third-party devices, enabling management through a single interface.


Lockheed Martin Corporation

Approved: March 07, 2018 | Expires: March 31, 2023

Lockheed Martin Corporation provides Integrated Coastal and Border Surveillance System and Services (the "Technology"). The Technology provides a capability for tracking of vessels in coastal maritime and land border areas to detect possible threats of harm by automating the detection of suspicious activity, providing support in the interdiction process, and by supporting post incident analysis and forensic investigations. The Technology also includes design, software development, testing, training, and maintenance support services.


Kappler, Inc.

Approved: March 01, 2018 | Expires: March 31, 2023

Kappler, Inc. provides Frontline® Chemical-Barrier, Flame-Resistant Protective Garments (the "Technology"). The Technology is a protective outerwear series which offers chemical, flash-fire, and radiant heat protection in HAZMAT response, petrochemical environments, and chemical flash fires. The Technology also includes all instructional materials and applicable warnings.


Rapiscan Systems, Inc.

Approved: March 01, 2018 | Expires: January 31, 2019

Rapiscan Systems, Inc. provides Itemiser®4DX (the "Technology"). The Technology is a portable, lightweight, desktop trace detector enabling the detection of microscopic particles of a broad range of explosives remaining on clothing, luggage, or any other surface, which explosives might have contacted. The Technology also includes user manuals and the procedures defined therein.


Rapiscan Systems, Inc.

Approved: March 01, 2018 | Expires: December 31, 2021

Rapiscan Systems, Inc. provides EntryScan®4 (the "Technology"). The Technology is a non-intrusive walk-through portal allowing for rapid detection of trace amounts of explosives. The Technology also includes installation, testing, training (operator and administrator), and maintenance.

RaySécur Inc. and RaySecur LLC

Approved: February 23, 2018 | Expires: March 31, 2021

Award Description: RaySécur Inc. and RaySecur LLC provide MailSecur, a desktop millimeter wave mailroom security workstation that generates real-time, three-dimensional videos of mail content. Contours of solid objects, and movement of powder and liquids are seen in real time (the "Technology"). The operator can screen mail items by hand in the field of view. The Technology does not generate any ionizing radiation. The Technology also includes training, installation, maintenance, calibration, software updates, and remote support.


AtHoc, Inc.

Approved: February 15, 2018 | Expires: March 31, 2023

AtHoc, Inc., provides AtHoc Networked Crisis Communications Suite (the "Technology"). The Technology is a modular network-centric system that automates the end-to-end bi-directional crisis communication process, delivering mass-notification (AtHoc Alert); personnel accountability (AtHoc Account); situational field reporting, duress activation, and situational awareness (AtHoc Collect); customizable interorganizational communication networks (AtHoc Connect); and a mobile application (AtHoc Mobile Application). The Technology also includes optional installation services and optional software hosting services through a third-party data center.


National Fire Protection Association, Inc.

Approved: February 08, 2018 | Expires: February 28, 2023

The National Fire Protection Association, Inc. ("NFPA") is an American National Standards Institute ("ANSI") Accredited Standards Development Organization, that has developed NFPA/American National Standards using the NFPA Codes and Standards Development Process, which meets the requirements of due process and criteria for approval and withdrawal of American National Standards (the "Technology"). The Technology is a set of codes and standards that address anti-terrorism technologies in the areas of personal protective garments, equipment, professional qualifications for first responders, and for preparedness planning for infrastructure and enterprise protection, fire protection systems, and for critical electrical and building systems.


ASIS International

Approved: February 06, 2018 | Expires: February 28, 2023

ASIS International, Inc., provides its Professional Certification Program (the "Technology"). The Technology is a certification and re-certification program for security professionals based on examination. ASIS grants three types of certification: Certified Protection Professional (CPP); Professional Certified Investigator (PCI); and, Physical Security Professional (PSP). The Technology also the provision of persons involved in developing and providing these certifications.
